Humaira is you and me

We also wanted to take up arts and writing. We also wanted to leave home and be on our own. We also wanted to make a name in something we truly loved doing. It’s a lonesome way. We chose the mainstream paths because we had to earn and there was no money in what we loved.

Everyone has had disagreements with their family as well. They don’t always approve of your choices, they have seen the usual is what works for most people, and they insist that we must also follow that. We can forgive them for that for they were raised in a different time and with different values.

Everyone dies too, you and I included. My father’s best friend died when he was my age i.e. 40. It was a hit and run case not too late on an Islamabad street. He was found dead by the roadside the next morning. My father wanted to just leave the city and go back to Pakpattan after that.

We don’t choose how we die.

May she rest in peace.
