The task of an Eastern person is two-fold, we have to study the western thought and its discontents but then have to study further to not forget that it may not be as applicable to us. Let me explain.
We were born into a different history and a different environment than Kafka or Camus. Their understanding of the human condition, even though it appears to be universal (because the scholarship around it has made it sound as such), is still rooted in their own history, environment, and the material conditions they found themselves in, which were unique to Europe.
Not actively working towards developing an understanding of this and more is just lazy.
